Kalamylly fishing

History is ever-present at the Kalamylly fishery, located on the Kaartkoski rapids. Your host Markku, alias Kalahan the Craftsman, knows how people have fashioned fishing tackle, cooking utensils, clothing and jewellery since the Stone Age. The Craftsman creates new experiences with demonstrations of his work at Kalamylly.

The Kalamylly shop has items made by the Craftsman as well as his wife Soili and many other artisans for sale.

At Kalamylly you will find Kaartkoski’s very own population of brown trout swimming in the river, as well as magnificent rainbow trout in the fish pond. Go fishing and enjoy the enticing smell of freshly smoked trout. You can also take home cleaned, salted and filleted fish.

You can purchase popular trout products from the Kalamylly café. Traditional coffee and refreshments are also available.

Kalamylly is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the summer season.
